34.1 You have come in sight of the desolate island to the north. The skys are grey and dreary. As you get closer, you see that the island is quite large, but there are few living plants to be seen.
"We land here." Says your uncle, and you climb out of the airship onto the beach. It is begining to rain.
"Perfect weather for snark hunting." Says your uncle, handing you an elephant gun. "In case there are any elephants."
"Do elephants live on this island?" You ask.
"No, but... one can never be too careful when it comes to elephants."
You walk along the beach for a while, in awe of how absolutely desolate it is. There is no sound except the waves lapping against the shore. Finally, you uncle turns to you and says, "Do you know much about hunting?"
"No, not really."
"Drat, me neither. Hmm... let me think. I believe that if what you're hunting is slower than you are, you should go looking for it, but if it is faster that you, you should stay in one place and wait for it."
"Are we faster than a snark?"
"Frankly, I have no idea. But bandersnatches are must faster than we are, and I certainly don't want to meet one of them. So... we walk."
You follow the line of the water. What few plants you see appear to be dead, and you begin to wonder what the snarks live off of. Suddenly, you see a bathing machine in the distance, and your uncle nudges you and whispers, "Snark!"
